Project Overview
SmileWorks Houston was struggling with high social media ad costs that yielded poor conversion due to an outdated, slow, mobile-unoptimized institutional website.I developed a new website focused on a fast conversion funnel, integrating a self-scheduling appointment system.


The Business Challenge
The main obstacle was conversion friction: potential patients had to fill out lengthy forms or make phone calls during business hours to book an appointment. Additionally, the original page took over 4 seconds to load on mobile 3G, where 85% of local traffic was concentrated.
The Engineering Solution
I developed a lightweight static architecture using Next.js with hybrid rendering. We implemented an intelligent interactive conversation agent (simulated chatbot) that guides the patient through choosing a specialty and time slot in under 1 minute. The entire page was optimized for Core Web Vitals, dynamically reducing images and using Tailwind v4 for minimal CSS footprint.
Data Flow Architecture
Ultra-optimized rendering pipeline integrated with Next.js Server Components. Static assets are distributed via global Edge CDN, and appointment data is processed by serverless API routes that update MongoDB asynchronously.
